Located in the former premises of an industrial building in the heart of Geneva, Mamco is Switzerland’s youngest and largest museum devoted to contemporary art. Founded in 1994, Mamco is now recognized as a museum of reference in the international art world.

Through 40 rooms, spread out over the museum’s four floors, the Mamco invites visitors to view artistic works representing the diversity and creativity of Contemporary Art. According to the idea of the museum as a global exhibition, the Mamco completely renews its displays three times a year, alternating temporary exhibitions and galleries dedicated to collections.

Since its opening, the Mamco has presented more than 450 exhibitions. The museum has organized some major retrospectives devoted to renowned artists like Claudio Parmiggiani, Martin Kippenberger, Jim Shaw, Bertrand Lavier, Steven Parrino, John M Armleder, Sylvie Fleury , and more recently, Franz Erhard Walther.
