Enjoy the charm of a classic car, the romance of a boat ride or the scenery of a more active outing… One thing is for sure: whatever you choose, your excursions in Paris will be unforgettable!

The scenic route – Discover Paris in a classic car

To enable you to relive the legends of Paris, classic car enthusiasts have devised some rather unusual routes.

Thanks to the «Compagnie au Long Cours» organisation, you can go for a ride in a legendary Traction limousine called «La Belle» (the Beauty) and be enchanted by one of the four themed rides: «A vous la ville lumière» (The City of Lights is Yours) is a ride at sundown that will amaze you; the «Paris gangsters» (Gangsters’ Paris) ride will take you back to the 50s and the famous vendettas of the decade; «Au temps des guinguettes» (The Era of Open-air Cafés and Dance Halls) will take you on a nostalgic musical trip along the banks of the river Marne; and finally, on the «Paris et l’Art Nouveau» (Paris and the Art Nouveau) trip, the most beautiful finials of 1900’s architecture will be unveiled to you.

And why not tour the capital in a «deuch»? «Deuch» is the French nickname for the famous 2CV, also well-known for its roll-back roof. Organised by the company «Quatre roues sous un parapluie» (literally «four wheels under an umberella»), these rides under the open sky give you an unimpeded view of Paris and will leave you with completely unique memories.

Go with the flow - Along the river Seine!

There is nothing like cruising along the Seine to really reach the heart of Paris. So, jump on board one of the numerous shuttle boats and set off down the river!

By day, you can travel on the Batobus, a trimaran that stops at all the essential places of interest: the Eiffel Tower, the Musée d’Orsay art museum, the Saint-Germain-des-Prés area, Notre Dame cathedral, the «Jardin des Plantes» botanical gardens, the Hôtel de ville (Town Hall), the Louvre and the prestigious Champs-Elysées avenue.

If you want to know everything there is to know about the Parisian canals, how the locks work and life on the riverbanks, you should consider taking a cruise with Canauxrama. The company’s fleet of boats can take you along various canals, most notably the Saint-Martin canal between the Paris-Arsenal marina and the Parc de la Villette, the largest park in Paris.

Or you could choose to enjoy dinner on board a real floating restaurant with the famous Compagnie des Bateaux Mouches. The magic of the banks of the river Seine at night guarantees a perfect, romantic atmosphere…

For sporty types – Bikes or rollerblades are the way to see Paris

Cycling or rollerblading enthusiasts can set off on their bikes or blades to see Paris in a different light…

Solo or in a group, a bike ride around Paris lets you see the city at your own pace or as part of a guided tour. While there are many bike hire services, you should know about the little Parisian treasure called «Vélib»: a self-service network of bike hire stands throughout the capital that anyone can use, anytime.

And, if you like rollerblading, you are in for a treat! Since 1994, a host of rollerblading fanatics have been sharing their passion and their love for Paris by inviting fellow enthusiasts to rollerblade their way around the streets. You can meet up with them every Friday evening around 9:30pm at the Montparnasse Tower and take part in a 3-hour rollerblade tour, an event that has become known as “Friday Night Fever”.
