Your luggage on board TGV Lyria trains

Please do not obstruct the aisles with oversized or excess luggage. Only take with you luggage that you can easily carry and store in the spaces provided for this purpose (the luggage rack above your seat, luggage racks in the middle of the carriages on some TGV Lyria trains and the spaces available behind or under your seat).

Remember there are also luggage spaces at the ends of the carriages: you should use these for your most bulky items of luggage, but please avoid leaving valuable items.

Good to know

Items, luggage and cases are carried entirely at your own risk. Please make sure they are clearly marked with your full name and address.

Transporting bikes on board TGV Lyria trains

1- Taking your bike without reserving a space
Your dismantled bike in a bike bag/cover (maximum dimensions: 120 x 90 cm) can be carried free of charge and without reservation in the luggage areas on TGV Lyria trains.

2- Reserving a bike space with the “Service Train + Vélo” (Train + Bike Service)
You can reserve a bike space for your assembled bike with the Train + Bike Service.

Paris–Lausanne–Brig
Paris–Bern lines

Four bike hooks are available in carriages 8 and 18.

Paris–Basel–Zurich
Paris–Geneva lines

A bike space is available (in carriage 1 or 11 on the Paris-Zurich line).

To take advantage of a bike hook or bike space, you must make your bike reservation when you buy your TGV Lyria ticket. This costs €10/17 CHF.

You can make the reservation at your usual SNCF or CFF point of sale ( except on Internet).

Good to know

Bikes in your care on board trains remain your sole responsability. This includes their loading and unloading. For the comfort and convenience of everyone, we recommend you do not take your bike on trains during peak hours and suggest that you obtain the relevant information in advance if you are travelling in a group.

The Auto Train service

The Auto Train service allows you to combine the comfort and tranquillity of a trip on a TGV Lyria train with the freedom of having your own car and being able to drive away once you arrive at your destination.

The Auto Train service is offered on the following TGV Lyria line:
Paris-Geneva (summer service)

You can make the reservation at your usual SNCF or CFF point of sale
