Our three reasons to visit Switzerland to relax

Since we’re feeling generous, we’ve found the best places for you to relax in Switzerland. Here are our tips for relaxing getaways.

Reason one: outdoor walks?

For a walk in the fresh air, take the TGV Lyria to Lausanne. Go for a stroll along the lake. If you have (even) more time, discover Montreux and its Balade Fleurie walk along Lake Geneva to the magnificent Château de Chillon, famous for its exotic flowers, palm trees and perfectly maintained flowerbeds. Montreux enjoys a mild climate and an exceptional panorama of the Savoyard Alps. It’s guaranteed to soothe your nerves.

Travel to Lausanne from Paris in just 3:41 h by TGV Lyria and then another 21 minutes by SBB train.

Reason two: spa break in Geneva?

For a well-deserved break in exceptional thermal baths, head to Geneva. Discover the Bain-Bleu, completely different from the traditional thermal baths with its cosily sombre, subdued and warm atmosphere. Modern architecture, immaculate Moroccan decor, equipped with a roof terrace for bathing in water at 35°C with an unobstructed view of Lake Geneva and the Jura. For a more convivial experience in the heart of the city, discover the Bains des Pâquis on a pier in the middle of Lake Geneva. In winter, the place turns into a true experience with sauna, hammam and even a fondue as a bonus at the Buvette des Bains. You’re in for real comfort.

Reason three: relaxation in the hotel

If you’re the kind of person who’d rather relax in the hotel than go out, why not drop off your bags in Basel.

  • Grand Hôtel Les Trois Rois ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️: Discover their Saijaku Wellbeing spa, inspired by the Japanese word for ‘silence’. This luxurious sanctuary is focused on absolute calm, offering massages with essential oils and aromatherapy. It’s the perfect place to clear your mind and take a bit of time for yourself.

  • GAIA Hotel ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️: Located opposite the train station, discover the fully sustainable and organic philosophy of the GAIA Hotel. Enjoy the hotel’s spa, equipped with a sauna, sensory showers and a wonderful selection of massages.

  • Radisson Blu, Basel ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️: The most complete in its range. If your idea of relaxation is swimming, you’ll enjoy the large indoor pool, a rare luxury in the centre of Basel. And after all that exercise, you can unwind in the sauna, hammam and relaxation rooms. The hotel also has a very quiet inner courtyard where you can escape from the hustle and bustle of the city!
